PRINCETON – Constance Y. (Travers) Melick, 77, formerly of Boylston Avenue in Princeton, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2010, in the Blaire House of Worcester after a 10 year struggle with Alzheimers.
She leaves two sons, David W. Drohan and his wife Karen of Yarmouth Port and Douglas W. Drohan and his wife Michelle of Princeton; four daughters, Donna Brown of Springfield, Missouri, Dale Jones of Corona, California, Tracy Contois of Leicester and Noel Roseberry of Barre; 18 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; a niece and several nephews. A son, Daniel P. Drohan of Webster passed away in 2005. A brother, William Travers, predeceased her.
Constance was born and raised in Worcester, the daughter of William and Yvette (Morin) Travers and lived 45 years in Princeton before moving to the Blaire House eight years ago. She was a graduate of Commerce High School and received an Associate's Degree in Business from Quinsigamond Community College. She was a waitress at the former Best Western Royal Plaza Trade Center in Fitchburg. Previously she worked at the Driftwood in Shrewsbury for many years. She loved animals, traveling and the beach. Her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren.
Constance's family would like to thank the staff of the Blaire House for their caring support and compassion.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 9 to 11 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 3rd, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, 162 Webster Street, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Massachusetts Chapter, 311Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
