Yerkine Margaret 'Peg' Maculevich

October 5, 1923 — September 7, 2015

PRINCETON – Yerkine M. “Peg” (Sahagian) Maculevich, 91, formerly of Hudson, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 7, 2015 at the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence, Worcester. She was born in Newton, a daughter of the late Oscar and Rose (Nordigian) Sahagian.

Peg was raised in Marlborough as part of an Armenian family with strong ties to their heritage. She graduated from Marlborough High School, and following her marriage to her late husband, William P. Maculevich and she worked for the former Diamond Shoe Manufacturing Co. Peg and Bill then settled in Hudson, where she lived for more than 45 years and relocated to Princeton 15 years ago. She dedicated herself to creating a loving family home. While raising her daughters, Peg actively participated in the Hudson PTA and served as a Girl Scout leader. She also followed her own passions of gardening at home with her husband as the owners of Pine Tree Farm Nursery and as a founding member of the Hudson Garden Club. She returned to working outside the home as her children grew older and spent many years as an electronics tester for Data General Corporation in Southborough. Peg was a former longtime member of Christ the King Parish in Hudson and a member of Prince of Peace Parish in Princeton, where she served as a Confraternity of Christian Doctrine teacher to many students in both parishes until she was 87 years old. Peg was an accomplished cook and a very talented baker, with a specialty talent for pies. Peg recently presented a pie baking class to the residents at the Wachusett House community. She was always available for a good game of Scrabble and enjoyed playing cribbage.

Her beloved husband Bill died in 1994. She leaves and will be lovingly missed by her two daughters, Anne Marie Borsky and her husband, Arthur of Princeton and Janice J. Boisclair and her husband, Joseph of Charlton; her brother, John Sahagian and his wife, Patricia of Marlborough; her brother-in-law, Joseph Madenjian of Minnesota. Peg was a cherished "Meme" to her four grandchildren, Amanda Borsky and her husband, Daniel Hartnett of Reston, VA, Alexander Borsky of Oregon, Jacquelyn Ashton and her husband, Jarred of Dudley and Joshua Boisclair of South Boston. She also leaves her three great grandchildren, Jordan, Julia and Jamie Ashton; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Angela Madenjian.
