HOLDEN - Woodrow "Woody" Harold MacGregor, 91, of Holden, died at home in Cardigan North, Prince Edward Island, Canada, on Saturday, July 3, 2010. The son of Harold and Elva (MacKenzie) MacGregor, Woody was born on P.E.I. on April 12, 1919. His family moved to Milton, Mass. where he graduated from Milton High School.
Woody served overseas in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was owner of MacGregor Home Products until his retirement in 1987. A long-time resident of Holden, he and Marian, his beloved wife of 67 years, divided time in their retirement years between their homes in Massachusetts and P.E.I.
He is survived by his wife, Marian (Bradford) MacGregor; his children, Sandra Hakkarainen and her husband Karl of Holden, John MacGregor and his wife Suanne of Bridgewater, Barbara Ball and her husband Craig of South Yarmouth and Scott and his wife Valeria of Forestdale. He also leaves grandchildren, Michael Hakkarainen and his wife Lynn, Adam Hakkarainen and his wife Jennifer, Lori, Russell, Phillip and Scott MacGregor and Timothy and Matthew Ball; and great-grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Joseph, Krista, Tess, Cassie and Lily. He was predeceased by his sister, Marie Woodward and Brother, Arthur MacGregor.
A memorial service for Woody will be held at a later date. Local funeral arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
