HUBBARDSTON – Robert W. Keough, 73, of 111 Gardner Road, died Wednesday, January 9, 2008 in UMass Memorial, Worcester, after an illness.
He leaves his companion of 25 years, Virginia L. Vanasse of Hubbardston; a son, William R. Keough of Hubbardston; three daughters, Kelli S. Calcia of Canaan, Maine, Deborah A. King and her husband Daniel and Brenda L. Keough all of Worcester; a brother, Stephen B. Keough of Rutland; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A brother, Ronald R. Keough, predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Kenneth A. and Cecile (LaRoche) Keough, and lived in Princeton and Holden before moving to Hubbardston 21 years ago. He was a graduate of Holden High School and a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Keough was a machinist for Reed Rolled Tread and Die Company for 37 years, retiring in 1994. After retirement, he was a van driver for 14 years for McCarthy’s Bus Line in Brookfield. He was a member of the Hubbardston Rod and Gun Club.
A Memorial Service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 14th, in the Chapel of the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jimmy Fund, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place-West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445. Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden is directing arrangements.
