HOLDEN – William “Skip” J. LaChance, 63, died Friday, July 16, 2004, in his home after an illness.
He was the husband of, Dorothy A. (Lucas) LaChance and the father of, Mark W. and Michele J. LaChance. He also leaves a brother–in–law, John Lucas and his wife Christine; a niece and two nephews; friends and McKinley. He was born in Worcester the son of James F. and Dorothy S. (Stearns) LaChance and lived most of his life in Holden.
Mr. LaChance graduated from Wachusett Regional High School and the Massachusetts Electrical Tech. School in Boston. Following his retirement from Heald Machine Co. in Worcester, he was involved in the restoration and engine rebuilding of classic cars. He was a member of the NHRA and traveled around the United States participating in car shows, winning awards with his 1923 Ford T-Bucket.
The funeral for Mr. LaChance will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 20, in the First Congregational Church, 1180 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery, 1290 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Calling hours are from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, July 19, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden.
