WESTBORO - William S. Lopatin, age 99, died on November 14, 2021 at Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center.
Born on July 5, 1922 in Tennent, NJ, Bill was the son of Jacob and Hannah (Cherin) Lopatin. He was raised in Freehold, NJ, then lived in Trenton and West Windsor, eventually moving to Westboro, MA.
Bill will be lovingly missed and remembered by his sons, Bruce Lopatin (Rickey) of Westboro, Andrew Lopatin (Norma, dec.) of Port Orange, FL, and Peter Lopatin (Diane McFarlin) of Sugar Grove, IL; his three stepsons, Michael Lewis (Linda Roswell) of Boulder, CO, Richard Lewis (Vivian) of Medford, NJ, and David Lewis (Honey Weiss) of Bedford, NH. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Betty (Ginsberg) Lopatin, his second wife, Miriam (Birnbaum) Lopatin; two sisters and two brothers.
Proud of his military service, Bill was a Navy Veteran of WWII, serving as a scrub nurse at Bethesda Naval Hospital in Washington, DC.
A Registered Pharmacist his entire adult life, he owned and operated Creston Pharmacy in Mercerville, NJ until 1969. He then worked for the state of New Jersey where, among other jobs, he ran the state’s Lifeline program and audited pharmacies throughout the state, and Unisys. He retired in 2007. Bill also earned a Master’s Degree in Hospital Administration.
Besides his deep love for his family, Bill enjoyed the company of others, sharing his stories, playing bridge and listening to classical music. His fond wish was to support Jewish Education.
Bill’s family gathered for a private graveside service on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Agudath Achim Cemetery in Freehold NJ. Arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home of Holden.
