RUTLAND – William L. Johnson, Sr., 74, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 after an illness.His loving wife and best friend of 41 years, Karen K. (Kenerson) Johnson, passed away in 2008. He leaves three children, William L. Johnson, Jr. and his wife, Allison of Andover, Leigh K. Johnson of Rutland and Kristin L. Johnson of Denver, CO; his brother, Robert Johnson of Denton, TX; two grandchildren, William P. Johnson and Alexandra Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.William was born in Holden, the son of Harry C. and Olive J. (Hasselstrom) Johnson and had lived most of his life in Rutland. He enlisted in the Army National Guard from July 29, 1964 through July 28, 1970. William was a longtime carpenter and spent many years working for the town of Princeton, restoring and maintaining the town office building before retiring. He enjoyed woodworking, restoring antique cars, watching the Red Sox and loved to spend time with his grandchildren.Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3rd, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
