William P. Hart

July 13, 1930 — August 9, 2012

NATICK/RUTLAND – William P. Hart, 82, of Rutland, died on Thursday, August 9, 2012 after a brief illness. Born in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late William P. and Margaret (Webber) Hart and lived 56 years in Natick before moving to Rutland in 2011.

Bill graduated from Allegheny High School in Pittsburgh and worked for the Town of Sherborn for over 20 years retiring in 2009. Previously, he worked at Paul Robsham Industries for 20 years. Bill was a proud U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War.

He was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Natick and enjoyed rooting for New England sport teams, but was always a Pittsburgh Steelers fan at heart. Bill will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle. He will also be remembered for his quick wit, his zest for life and his love for his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Marilyn A. (Lynch) Hart; two sons, William R. Hart of Los Angeles, CA and Robert J. Hart and his wife Janice of Medway; a daughter, Nancy Styffe and her husband Philip of Rutland; a sister, Margaret “Mary” Averell of Pittsburgh, PA; three grandchildren Ruthann O’Sullivan, William Styffe and Jonathan Hart Westbrook; two great-grandchildren, Grace and William O’Sullivan; three step-grandchildren, Stephen, Jessica and Timothy Hanna; and his beloved shih tzu, “Cho-Choo”.
A funeral service honoring Bill’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 14, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. Interment will follow at Rural Cemetery in Rutland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill’s memory to the Heart Failure Research Fund, c/o Dr. Marc Semigran, Massachusetts General Hospital, Bigelow 800, Fruit St., Boston, MA 02114.
