STERLING – William T. Duffy, 76, passed away at home on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 after an illness. He was born in Clinton, the son of William F. and Catherine (Gibbons) Duffy and had lived in Clinton before moving to Sterling 42 years ago.
He leaves his loving wife of 56 years, Jane D. (Clark) Duffy; four children, Terrance M. Duffy, his wife, Michele and their children, Megan and Katherine all of St. Paul, MN, Kathleen M. White, her husband, David and their children, Amanda, Laynie, Greg, and Dana all of Franklin Lakes, NJ, Sue M. Berger, her husband, Robert and their children Shannon and Erin all of Northborough and Mary E. Seaver and her husband, Richard of Fitchburg; and many nephews and nieces.
William graduated in 1956 from St. John’s High School in Worcester. He was a plumber for many years for the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local 4 in West Boylston before he retired. Previously, William owned and operated Duffy’s Plumbing and Heating in Clinton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, March 23, in the Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling. A private burial will be held later this spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sterling Animal Shelter, c/o Animal Shelter Inc., 17 Laurelwood Road, Sterling, MA 01464.
