Biography
William L. Braunig, 57, of Jefferson, passed away on Monday, April 10, 2017 at UMass Memorial Healthcare in Worcester. Bill was the son of the late William L. and June E. (Lord) Braunig and spent his formative years in Wayland before moving to Holden in 1994.
Bill graduated from Wayland High School and attended Husson University in Bangor, Maine. He built a highly recognized career in the oil industry. He dedicated his last 10 years to Global Partners LP in Waltham as Wholesale Risk Manager. He played an integral role of their Marketing team where his wisdom, sage advice and wit endeared him to his many customers as well as colleagues. On May 6, 1989, Bill married the love of his life, Lisa Puopolo at Saint Luke’s Church in Westborough. Five years after their marriage, Bill and Lisa settled in Holden where they enjoyed 23 years building their life making many lifelong friends and raising their three sons. Bill attended St. Mary’s Church in Jefferson with his family and coached Holden Little League Baseball and Chaffin Recreational Association Basketball.
His life was centered on family, friends and his career. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend and was proud of his sons and their many accomplishments. He had a contagious sense of humor and enjoyed making everyone laugh and feel good. In his spare time, Bill enjoyed listening to a variety of music, watching movies, following New England sport teams, especially the Patriots, and cooking for his family and friends.
He will be affectionately remembered and missed by his wife, Lisa A. (Puopolo) Braunig; three sons, Cameron T. Braunig of West Palm Beach, Florida, Mitchell W. and Kendall A. Braunig both of Jefferson; two sisters, Margaret A. Griffin and her husband, Michael of Folsom, California and Laura B. Burnett and her husband, Michael Sean of Camino, California; nephews and nieces; and his beloved dog, “Flash.”
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Bill’s family from 5 to 8 pm on Monday, April 17, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Tuesday, April 18, at St. Mary’s Church, 114 Princeton St., Jefferson. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bill’s name to the American Heart Association, 300 5th Ave., Suite 6, Waltham, MA 02451.
