STERLING – Hans Werner Reinberg, 81, of 32 North Cove Road, died peacefully at home on March 13, 2008, after a long illness.
He leaves his wife of 55 years, Lisa Reinberg; a son, Ralf and wife Jacalyn of Turnersville, New Jersey; a daughter, Karin and husband Dana Beausoleil of Cobb Island, Maryland; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and close relatives in Germany.
He was educated as a mechanical engineer in Germany, at the Naval Academy in Flensburg and the Engineering School of Duisburg. He worked for Durwerke in his home town of Ratingen and emigrated to America in 1957 with his wife and two-year old son. He was sponsored by Riley Stoker in Worcester and worked for the company until he retired due to illness in 1982. He loved to ski, swim and travel and saw much of the world during his business travels and in his retirement. He was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and graduated from the School of Industrial Management at Worcester Tech.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 19th, in the Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling. After cremation, his ashes will be buried in the Reinberg family grave in Germany. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to either the Sterling Police Association, P.O. Box 161, or the Sterling Fire Department, Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 515, both of Sterling, MA 01564. The Reinbergs wish to express special gratitude to both groups for many years of highly dedicated emergency service.
