JEFFERSON – Wentworth Charter Maynard, Jr., 95, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2016 at the Jewish Healthcare Center in Worcester. Born in Worcester, he was a son of Wentworth C. and Greta (Underwood) Maynard. Wentworth was an avid bridge player; he was a life master ACBL, (American Contract Bridge League), since 1996. He was a member of several clubs including the Cavendish Club, the Worcester Bridge Club and the Grafton Bridge Club. He was an avid reader who enjoyed library books and newspapers. He enjoyed stamp and coin collecting along with crossword puzzles and watching game shows like Jeopardy and Family Feud. Wentworth was a lucky man with instant game tickets and enjoyed casino trips years ago with the Greendale Men’s Club. His wife Mildred (Broberg) Maynard passed away in 1984. Wentworth leaves a daughter, Sharon A. Fagerquist and her husband, Bruce of Holden; one grandson, Kevin Fagerquist and his wife, Kerriann and their two children, Nolan and Katelyn. Besides his wife, Wentworth was predeceased by his two brothers, Alden and Bradford Maynard. The family would like to thank the staff at the Eisenberg Assisted Living facility and the Jewish Healthcare Center for their compassionate care of Wentworth and his family. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family from 10-11 a.m. on Thursday, November 17, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Hope Cemetery, Worcester.
