WORCESTER – Wendy Hochman, age 62, died peacefully in her sleep at her residence after a brief illness on March 11, 2025. Born in Worcester, she was the beloved daughter of her late parents, Joan and Leo Hochman, MD.
Wendy graduated from Doherty Memorial High School in 1980 and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Wellesley University in 1985 with High Honors. Wendy attended Boston College School of Law despite earning a full scholarship to Boston University School of Law. She was a highly successful scholar, winning multiple awards throughout her academic career. Wendy was a National Merit Scholar Finalist, won the Brown University Book Award and The National French Exam/Grand Concours for excellence in French Fluency, just to name a few.
Our beloved sister Wendy was a voracious lifelong reader and student with an excellent memory, often surprising people with detailed knowledge on multiple subjects. She worked for many years as a Social Worker for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and later focused her concern for others to her aging parents, attending to them and fiercely advocating for them during their later years.
Wendy will be lovingly missed and remembered by her brothers, Matthew Hochman of Nevada and Ira Hochman of Cambridge. She leaves behind her Uncle Richard Chandler and Ingrid Marino of Boca Raton, FL. Wendy was predeceased by her parents.
Family and friends will gather to honor Wendy’s memory at a private Graveside Funeral Service at 12:45 PM on Monday March 24th at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon. The family will receive condolences immediately after the service at a private home in Dedham. Directions will be provided at the service.
