HOLDEN – Wanda S. Jackiewicz, 80, of 168 Princeton Street, Jefferson, died surrounded by her loving family on Friday, May 25, 2007, in UMass Memorial Healthcare, Worcester, after a long illness.
Her husband, Stanley P. Jackiewicz, predeceased her. She leaves two daughters, Wanda L. Shepardson and her husband Earle of Wheelwright and Brenda L. Desrosiers and her husband Michael of Auburn; a brother, Stanley Smola of Rutland; a sister, Stella Biegay of Auburn; two grandchildren, Tyler and Emily; and many nieces and nephews. Her son, Joseph P. Jackiewicz, died in 1998. She was born in Hardwick, daughter of Stanley and Bertha Smola, and lived in Jefferson most of her life. She worked at General Electric for many years and was a housekeeper for several years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church and loved being with her children and grandchildren.
The funeral Mass for Mrs. Jackiewicz will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 31st, in St. Mary’s Church, 114 Princeton Street, Jefferson. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, 1326 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association of Massachusetts, 460 Totten Pond Road, Suite 400, Waltham, MA 02451; or Leukemia Lymphoma Society, Mass. Chapter, 495 Old Connecticut Path, Framingham, MA 01701. Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden, is directing arrangements.
