Biography
WORCESTER - Walter Paul Plucinski, 86, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, November 8, 2011. He was born in Worcester, son of Benjamin and Agnes (Warchel) Plucinski.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Beverly (Thompson) Plucinski; his children and their spouses, Chris and John Kalen of Arvada, CO, Dot and Mike Gleason of Holden, Paul and Pat Plucinski of South Dennis, Kae Plucinski and Karen Taylor of Worcester and Pete and Katey Plucinski of Hudson; his grandchildren, Terri, Doug, Callie and her husband Michael, Daniel, Kevin, Timothy, Shirley, Kara, Kellie, Benjamin and "Chris”; his great-grandchildren, Damond, Everyn and Trinity and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his infant children, Paula and George and his siblings, George, Sophie, Irene and Robert.
He graduated from Commerce High School, The University of Massachusetts in Amherst (Electrical Engineer) and received his B.A. from Clark University in Business Administration. He was a member of Phi Kappa Phi, an honorary society at UMass.
Walter was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in France and was a veteran of the Korean War (Recalled Army Engineer Corp). He was an Inspection Engineer in the Electrical Cable Division at the former U.S. Steel Corporation in Worcester for many years until it closed in 1978. He worked at Phalo Plastics from 1979 to 1984. He was a member of the National Association of Realtors, the Greater Worcester Board of Realtors, MLS and served on numerous boards and committees including the Board of Directors. He graduated from the Greater Realtor Institute. Along with his wife, he was co-owner of West Side Realty for many years retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Harold N. Keith American Legion Post 204 in West Boylston and Christ The King Church in Worcester.
Walter was an avid fisherman, reader, gardener, animal lover and enjoyed playing cards with his family and friends. Most importantly, Walter loved spending time with his family.

Relatives and friends may visit with Walter’s family from 10:30 am to 12 noon on Friday, November 11, with a Memorial Service at 12 noon in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will be at a later date at Woodlawn Cemetery, Princeton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Second Chance Animal Shelter, Inc., P.O. Box 136, East Brookfield, MA 01515.
