HOLDEN – Virginia (Hodgkins) Cooper, 98, passed away at home on Monday, June 9, 2014 after a brief illness. She was born in Rockport, the daughter of Russell C. and Amy (Friend) Hodgkins and graduated from Beverly High School.
Her loving husband of 59 years, Wilbur F. Cooper, passed away in 1996. She leaves three sons, Richard A. Cooper and his wife, Mary of Ware, Lawrence A. Cooper and his wife, Terry of The Villages, FL and Ronald L. Cooper of Tucson, AZ; nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a brother, Douglas Hodgkins and a sister, Audrey.
Virginia was a demonstrator for 15 years at Stanley Home Products. She was a former member of the Greendale People’s Church in Worcester and loved to square dance with her husband, knitting and spending time with her family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour on Monday, June 16, from 12 to 1 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden.
