WEST BOYLSTON – Victor E. Carlo, 94, beloved husband of the late Kathleen (Mooney) Carlo passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at St. Vincent Hospital with his loving family by his side. Born and raised in Worcester, he was a son of the late Victor and Frances (Maile) Carlo.
He graduated from Commerce High School. Victor proudly served in the United States Navy during WW2 aboard the USS Houston. Upon his return, he was employed by the former Reed Rolled Thread Die Company in Holden retiring after 36 years as Director of Purchasing in 1989.
Vic was a member of St. George Catholic Church for more than fifty years and an active member of the Men’s Club. He was a longtime member of the Wachusett Country Club, the Retired Men’s Club of Greendale, the YMCA and was a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus, Bishop O’Reilly Assembly. He and Kathleen enjoyed traveling, cruising, and spending time on Cape Cod and in Florida. Vic was an avid fan of the New England Patriots, the Boston Red Sox and was an American History and Civil War buff.
Watching his children and grandchildren grow and mature at family gatherings, holidays and special occasions brought him great joy and happiness.
He will be lovingly missed and remembered by his daughter Kathleen M. Beriau and her husband, Brian of Harwich Port; his sons, Kenneth Carlo and his wife Robin of Gloucester, Robert Carlo and his wife Tracy of Littleton, CO, James Carlo of Sterling, and Thomas Carlo of Worcester; fourteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to Kathleen, his wife of 69 years, and his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Joseph Carlo; his three brothers, Nicholas Carlo, John Carlo and Eugene Carlo; his sister, Grace Bingham; and his daughter-in-law Suzan Carlo.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at St. Vincent Hospital for the kind and compassionate care he received during his stay.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 17 at St. George Church, 38 Brattle Street, Worcester. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, 260 Cambridge Street, Worcester, where he will be laid to rest beside his wife. Memorial donations may be made to Veteran’s Inc., 69 Grove Street, Worcester, MA 01605. Arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
