HOLDEN – Charles V. Bucko, 93, of 15 Hilltop Avenue, Jefferson, died Wednesday, February 13, 2008 in Holy Trinity Eastern Orthodox Nursing & Rehab. Center, Worcester, after an illness.
His wife of 61 years, Charlotte V. (Golanka) Bucko, died in 2004. He leaves his daughter with whom he lived, Charlotte M. Bucko; a son, Dwayne J. Bucko of Sewickley, PA; a brother, Benjamin Bucko of Syracuse, NY; a granddaughter, Stephanie C. Bucko of Sewickley, PA; nephews and nieces. Four brothers, Stanley, John, Edward and Henry Bucko and two sisters, Wanda Chandler and Regina Health, predeceased him. He was born in Claremont, New Hampshire, son of Stanley and Mary (Baja) Bucko, and has lived in Jefferson for 61 years.
Mr. Bucko was a graduate of Steven's High School in Claremont and Worcester Junior College with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked as a Methods Engineer at Norton Company for 45 years, retiring in 1975. He was a member of St. Mary's Church, Greendale Retired Men's Club, Worcester Horticultural Society, Norco Sportsmen's Club, the Jefferson Civic Club and the Tower Hill Botanical Garden in Boylston.
Relatives and friends are invited to a calling hour from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 19th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Holden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Patient Activities Fund, Holy Trinity Eastern Orthodox Nursing & Rehab.
