WORCESTER – Elisabeth (Varhalmi) Lorincz, died on Saturday, April 2, 2011 in UMass Memorial Healthcare-University Campus after a brief illness. Elisabeth would have turned 86 years old this May.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sandor Nagy Lorincz, who died in 1990. She is survived by her beloved sister Eva Varhalmi, with whom she lived; her son, Alexander V. Lorincz and his wife Christine of Worcester, and her son, Lad V. Lorincz, of Worcester. She also leaves two grandchildren, Christina McCarthy and Alexander G. Lorincz; two great-grandchildren: Kyle and Kaitlyn McCarthy, and relatives in Hungary.
Elisabeth was born in Szekesfehervar, Hungary, emigrated to Buenos Aires, Argentina after World War II, and moved with her family to Worcester, Massachusetts in 1963. She worked at Mason Research/EEG as a lab technician and Micro Networks in Worcester. She was an avid gardener and an accomplished Hungarian cook. Her greatest pleasure was taking care of her family and she will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
Funeral services will be private. Arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
