PAXTON – Elizabeth T. (Donnelly) Walsh, 81, of Paxton died on Wednesday, January 24, 2007, in Saint Vincent Hospital, Worcester after a brief illness.
Her husband of 43 years, Thomas F. Walsh died in 1995. She leaves her son, Thomas S. Walsh and his fiancée Darlene Cooper both of Holden; her daughter, Joanne Fontaine and her husband Mark of Brookfield; a brother, Eugene Donnelly and his wife Adrienne of Trumbull, Connecticut; three grandchildren, Jesse, Christopher and Jimmy Fontaine all of Brookfield; several nieces and nephews. A brother, Philip Donnelly predeceased her. She was born in New York, New York the daughter of Philip J. and Anna (Ryer) Donnelly and lived 35 years in Paxton.
Mrs. Walsh graduated from Cathedral High School in New York City. She was a member of St. Columba Church, Paxton Women’s Club, Friends of the Paxton Council on Aging and the book club at the Senior Center. She enjoyed sewing, reading, traveling, and her meetings with the “Gabby Girls”. For years she summered at Old Orchard Beach in Maine and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Her favorite hobby was painting with oils and watercolors.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 27, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden, with a service in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56), Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made the Paxton Women’s Club, c/o June Herron, Treasurer, 16 Tanglewood Road, Paxton, MA 01612.
