HOLDEN – Mary T. (Ryan) Dadah, 88, died on Friday, May 20, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. She is predeceased by her husband of 30 years, Albert A. Dadah who died in 1978, and two grandsons, Jack C. Toney and Steven T. Toney.
She was born and raised in Worcester, daughter of Thomas and Hannah (Ryan) Ryan, and lived in Jefferson for fifteen years. She was a graduate of St. Peter's High School and attended Worcester Junior College.
Mary was devoted to her family, a loving wife and mother. In later years, her grandchildren were the light of her life. She loved to entertain. Her home was a home away from home to her extended family of brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. She had a wonderful smile and was an instant friend to all she met. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, reading and being a storyteller. She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Jefferson.
She is survived by her children, Patricia A. Toney of Cherry Valley, Donna M. Gardner, wife of Richard J. Gardner of Spencer and Albert T. Dadah of Jefferson; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews. Six siblings, Margaret G. Archambeault, Michael J., Thomas J., Harold V., John J. and Robert R. Ryan, predeceased her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, May 23rd, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 24th, from the funeral home with a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, 114 Princeton Street, Jefferson. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, 260 Cambridge Street, Worcester. The family suggests donations in memory of Mary be made to the Jack and Steven Toney Scholarship Fund, c/o Quinsigamond Community College, 670 West Boylston Street, Worcester, MA 01606.
