Biography
PRINCETON – Keith “Tom” Stafford, 65, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2015 at UMass Memorial Healthcare University Campus surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Boston and raised in Holden, and had lived in Princeton for 35 years.
He leaves his loving wife of 42 years, Dale A. (Rice) Stafford; a son, Tim Stafford of Los Angeles, CA; a daughter, Leslie Pude and her husband, Mark of Honeoye Falls, NY; his mother, Maureen I. (Cox) Stafford of Holden; a brother, Roger Stafford of Holden; a sister, Wendy Stafford of Shrewsbury; two grandchildren, Avery and Jacob Pude; his mother-in-law, Frances Rice of Princeton; and nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his father, Kenneth R. Stafford and a brother, Mark Stafford.
Tom graduated from Wachusett Regional High School in 1968 and from Fitchburg State College in 1972, before serving his country in the Army National Guard for six years. He was employed for 38 years by Norton Company, working as a machinist, supervisor and a senior research assistant both at the Worcester and Northborough facilities, before retiring in 2012. He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Princeton, Norco Sportsmen’s Club and was an assistant scoutmaster for Boy Scout’s Troop 1 in Princeton for 20 years. Tom loved to spend time with his family and embraced his new role as “Grandpa Tom”. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and his dogs.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 17, in the Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling. Funeral services for Tom will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, at the First Congregational Church of Princeton, 14 Mountain Road. A committal service will held later in the spring.
