OAKHAM – Thomas S. Whitehead, 85, died Sunday, November 28, 2004, in the Hospice Residence in Worcester.
He leaves his wife of 61 years, Barbara E. (Whitehead) Whitehead, and many nieces and nephews. He was born in Tilton, New Hampshire, the son of George F. and Helen M. (Stuart) Whitehead, was raised in Auburn, lived in Worcester before moving to Oakham 32 years ago. He graduated Auburn High School in 1937. He was a Navy veteran of World War II serving in the Asiatic-Pacific theatre.
Mr. Whitehead worked for Nissan Motors, Corporate Parts Division, for 13 years retiring as a District Manager in 1984. Previously he worked for Jewett Motors in Worcester. He was a member of the Boylston Lodge A.F. & A.M. of Masons in West Boylston, the High Twelve Club, and the 40 & 8 Fraternal Organization of Veterans.
A memorial service for Mr. Whitehead will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 4, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will be private in Woodstock Cemetery, Rte. 3, Woodstock, New Hampshire. There are no calling hours.
