WORCESTER - Thomas Charles Paskalis, 76, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Tom was predeceased by Carole A. (Scott) Paskalis, his wife of 35 years who devoted her life to caring for him until her passing. He is survived by his devoted daughter and son-in-law, Christina and Artie Rogan and his beloved granddaughters, Caroline and Charlotte with whom he resided. Tom is also survived by three brothers, his twin, Stu of Worcester, Peter of Shrewsbury, Steven of Holden and a sister, Maria Zekos of Holden. He leaves many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was born to Charles and Anastasia (Pappas) on April 27, 1945. After graduating from North High School, Tom attended Arizona State University, where he became a member of their golf team and Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity. Following his graduation, Tom returned home to teach at Jefferson Middle School, while also working at his family owned restaurant, Stuart’s Diner. Later, Tom enjoyed working alongside his brothers at Shrewsbury Pizzeria and Steve’s Pizzeria. Tom continued his passion for golf as a member of Wachusett Country Club.
During his lifetime Tom met incredible medical challenges beginning with suffering a debilitating stroke at the age of 40 followed by a diagnosis of Parkinson’s Disease. He faced all those challenges not only with a strong will to live but with extraordinary courage, strength, grace and dignity. Nothing was more important to Tom than his family. Tom cherished the time he could spend with them, especially during summers on Cape Cod. He was so proud of his daughter, Christina and loved her husband, Artie, as a son. Tom’s true joy was being a “Pup” to his grandchildren, watching them grow right in front of his eyes each and every day.
Tom’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Salmon Hospice, the many families, friends, doctors and nurses who have traveled with us during this journey. A special thank you to Yvette for her kindness, loving care and friendship that she provided to our entire family.
