Thomas J. O'Neill

WORCESTER - Thomas J. O'Neill, 79, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester after an illness. He was born in Worcester, the son of Michael and Helen (O’Leary) O’Neill and had lived most of his life in Worcester before moving to Clearwater, Florida in 1999. He leaves his son, Dennis O’Neill and his wife, Susan of Shrewsbury; five daughters, Donna O’Neill of Holden, Helen Quattrochi and her husband, Michael of Nashua, NH, Maureen O’Neill of Durham, NC, Linda Weaver and her husband, Brian of Oxford and Michelle O’Neill of Atlanta, GA; two brothers, Dr. John O’Neill of Nantucket and Daniel O’Neill and his wife, Barbara of Danvers; his brother-in-law, Richard Anish of Arlington, TX; nine grandchildren; one great grandson; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Patricia A. (Moquin) O’Neill, his second wife, Paulette (Sulham) O’Neill and his sister, Katherine Anish. Thomas graduated from North High School in 1954. He was a mail handler for the U.S. Postal Service in Worcester for over twenty years before he retired and was a member and at one time Steward of the Mail Handlers Union of New England Local 301. Thomas was a member of the Worcester Lodge of Elks, 243, the Lincoln Sportsmen’s Club, was the secretary of the Westchester Lakes Condo Association and he formerly played and managed in the Greendale Softball League. Thomas was known for his beautiful smile, bright blue eyes and wonderful sense of humor. He was an avid New England sports fan especially the Red Sox and the Patriots. After moving to Florida he also loved to follow the Tampa Bay Ray’s and the Buccaneers.
