HOLDEN - Thomas Brian Mascitelli, 56, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 9, 2017, following a brief illness. He leaves the love of his life and wife of 21 years, Christine (Lapoint) Mascitelli; his three amazing daughters, Abigail, Chloe and Mia Mascitelli; his mother, Eleanor (McCullough) Mascitelli; his three brothers, David and his wife, Shari, John and Peter Mascitelli; 4 nephews; 4 nieces; many in-laws who call him brother and son; countless dear friends; and his beloved furry friends, his dog, Gilbert and his cat, Ophelia. Tom’s family is blessed to know that Tom is reunited with his father, Salvatore sharing their great love of music. Tom worked in information technology at AdCare in Worcester. He was extremely active at Chaffin Congregational Church in Holden and had a great love for his church community and their outreach programs, especially the annual Christmas Eve dinner, which is open to all. Tom also had a great love for the sport of rugby. He played with the Worcester Rugby Club and later coached. He enjoyed community theater and was able to recently fulfill his dream as the lead role with Central Mass OnStage. He loved the outdoors camping with his family, biking and kayaking. He was always willing to help others, especially to make them laugh. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Tom’s family on Friday, January 13, from 5-8 p.m. at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. A funeral service honoring and celebrating Tom’s life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, January 14, at Chaffin Congregational Church, 155 Shrewsbury Street, Holden. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Chaffin Congregational Church, 155 Shrewsbury Street, Holden, MA 01520 to continue Tom’s outreach efforts.
