Thomas J. Kosewski

STERLING - Thomas J. Kosewski, 77, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on Saturday, October 21, 2017 after an illness. Born and raised in Clinton, Tom was the son of the late Stanley and Gladys (Holka) Kosewski and lived the last 47 years in Sterling with his family.
He was a graduate of Clinton High School class of 1957. After honorably serving his country in the United States Marine Corps in the late 1950's into the early 1960's, he attended Worcester Junior College and Lowell Technical Institute. Tom enjoyed a 40 year career in the printing industry that began at the Colonial Press in Clinton.  He retired from Lowell Paper Box Co. in 2002.  In retirement he established a courier service for local businesses.
Tom had many interests including camping, playing golf, fishing, hunting and snowmobiling. First and foremost, he was a devoted family man and enjoyed any occasion that would bring them closer together. A former player for the Marlboro Shamrocks football team, Tom utilized his football talent to coach the Sterling-Princeton Steelers in the Pop Warner Football League. He was also a notable troop leader for the Boys Scouts in Sterling. He will be remembered by his family and friends as a "gentle giant" who cared deeply for others.
He will be affectionately remembered and missed by his beloved wife of 47 years, Ellen M. (Lowe) Kosewski; two sons, Peter S. Kosewski and his wife, Sharon of Huntington, NY, James A. Kosewski of Lunenburg; four daughters, Jo A. Kosewski and Lawrence Selevan of Manhattan, Jill M. DeSpagna and her husband, Christopher of Newtown, CT, Lynn Fors and her husband, Paul of Sterling, and Kate L. Kosewski and her husband, Adam Sweetland of Holden; eight grandchildren, Courtney and Thomas Kosewski, Tessa and Natalie DeSpagna, Chet, Ella and Matthew Fors, and Bria Sweetland; many nephews and nieces; and cousins. His first wife, Carolyn (Jakubowicz) Kosewski passed away in 1968. He is also predeceased by his brother, Stanley and sister, Joan Wood.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Tom's family from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm on Tuesday, October 24, at Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling. A funeral service honoring Tom's life will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Wednesday, October 25 at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon. Memorial contributions may be made to Beacon Hospice, Leominster, MA and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society ( www.lls.org ).
