LANCASTER - Thomas Bevan, 72, of 36 Mary Catherine Drive, formerly of Cotuit, Norwood, and Holliston, Mass., died at home on Sunday, November 27, 2004, after a short battle with cancer.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 47 years, Rosaleen (O’Rourke) Bevan; six children, Dolores Bevan of Holiday, Florida, Thomas Bevan of Fort Walton, Florida, Monica Aldridge of Sterling, Mary Belanger of Salem, South Carolina, Rosaleen Varnes of Beaufort, South Carolina, and David Bevan of Cambridge; nine grandchildren; five brothers and a sister – two brothers predeceased him.
Tommy was born on May 15, 1932 in Lucan, County Dublin, Ireland, son of Thomas and Margaret Bevan, who have predeceased him. He immigrated to America in 1953, where he married Rosaleen in 1957. He enjoyed listening and dancing to Irish music, watching old western movies and spending all his time with his wife and family. Tommy will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by all of his family and friends.
The funeral for Mr. Bevan will on Wednesday, December 1, from the Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 672 Main Street, Lancaster. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Parker Road, Lancaster. Calling Hours will be from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 30, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Home for Little Wanderers, Development Dept., 271 Huntington Avenue, 2nd Floor, Boston, MA 02115, would be greatly appreciated by the family.
