Theresa E. Viapiano

RUTLAND - Theresa E. (Leenders) Viapiano, 85, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family after a period of illness. Born in the Netherlands, Theresa was the daughter of Walter and Agnes Leenders. She lived in Worcester for 55 years before moving to Rutland in 2019.

Theresa will be deeply missed by her devoted husband of 62 years, Vincenzo Viapiano; her son, Nicola Viapiano, and his wife Pamela, of Venice, Florida; her daughter, Maria F. Harrington, and her husband Stephen, of Rutland; as well as her cherished grandchildren, Rosalia Gillispie, Elena Viapiano, Monica Viapiano, and Mikayla Harrington; and four great grandchildren.

Theresa found great joy in being a grandmother and had a special bond with each of her grandchildren. Together with her husband, Vincenzo, she enjoyed traveling to many places, including Europe, the Caribbean, and across the United States. One of her greatest pleasures was cooking for her family, especially during the holidays.

Relatives and friends are invited to join Theresa's family for visitation on Wednesday, February 5, from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A procession will follow to St. Patrick's Church, 258 Main St., Rutland, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will take place at Notre Dame Cemetery in Worcester.
