Theresa 'Terry' M. (Ricardi) Woodman

June 21, 1928 — October 15, 2016

STERLING - Theresa “Terry” M. (Ricardi) Woodman, 88, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Sterling Village Nursing & Rehabilitation Center where she had been a resident for 3 years. Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late Frank and America (Tomosini) Ricardi.

Terry graduated from Commerce High with honors. She and her late husband moved to Sterling in 1954, where she spent the remainder of her life. She was a very active member of St. Richard of Chichester Parish. Her career in the banking industry spanned many years, rising from teller to manager to assistant treasurer of several banks including Peoples Savings, Worcester North Savings and First Service banks, all in Sterling. Just a few of her hobbies included boating, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, cooking and baking. Later in life, Terry and her husband, Joe truly enjoyed exploring the wonder of nature around them and spent several years traveling throughout North America, including winter trips to Florida, extended trips through Canada and Alaska, as well as several states west of the Mississippi.

Terry was predeceased by her first husband, Albert U. Adua Sr. and her second husband, Rowland Joseph Woodman. She is survived by her son, Albert U. Adua, Jr. and his wife, Lynn (McNally) Adua of Sterling; her 3 stepchildren, Robert Joy of North Oxford, Gail Woodman of California and James Woodman of Florida; her sister, Virginia Soloperto of Auburn; and 2 nieces and 4 nephews. She was predeceased by her 2 brothers, James P. Ricardi of West Boylston and Vincent A. Ricardi of Shrewsbury.
Theresa’s family would like to thank the entire staff at Sterling Village for the fine and loving care provided to her over the last 3 years, as well as the nursing staff and care team with Brookhaven Hospice for making Terry’s final days more comfortable and meaningful.

Theresa generously gifted her remains to the Anatomical Gift Program at the UMass Medical School. She will be remembered during the 9 am Mass on Sunday, October 23 at St. Richard of Chichester Church, 4 Bridge Street, Sterling. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Sterling will be at a later date. In honor of her memory, donations may be made to St. Richard of Chichester Food Pantry, P.O. Box 657, or Hiram O.
