Theresa M. (Mascioli) Waite

February 25, 1926 — March 5, 2013

WORCESTER - Theresa M. (Mascioli) Waite, 87, died peacefully at home on March 5, 2013, with her loving family by her side. Theresa was the daughter of Sarah (Brescia) and Anthony Mascioli.

Theresa leaves her devoted husband, Charles A. Waite, with whom she would have celebrated 61 years of marriage on March 10th. She leaves her loving daughter, Janet Cyganski and her husband David of Holden. She leaves her adoring and beloved grandson, Nicholas Cyganski, who will miss the love and smile of his special “Honey”. She also leaves two sisters, Jennie Chouinard and Barbara Goneau, both of Clinton and her brother-in-law, Philip Goneau.

Theresa has lived in Worcester for more than 30 years but was born in Clinton and graduated from Clinton High School, class of 1943. She went on after high school to work in the binding department of the Colonial Press. That all changed when she met a soldier at a family wedding. She and Charlie were married and traveled to the West Coast where they lived in California and Washington State while in the Army. They traveled by car across the United States several times back and forth from coast to coast and passing through or stopping in 47 states in their travels. Theresa was a life-long member of the DAV (Disabled American Veteran) auxiliary.

Theresa was happiest being a homemaker and spending time with her family. She loved to sew and cook but it was the time spent with her family that brought the biggest smile to her face.

Theresa’s family would like to thank the staff and administration of Briarwood for their compassion and support. They also thank Dr. Dennis Dimitri and his staff for their care over the past many years.

In keeping with Theresa’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. A private service will be held at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. Burial will be in Saint John’s Cemetery, Lancaster. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Theresa’s favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the Briarwood Retirement Community, Residence Assistance Fund, 65 Briarwood Circle, Worcester, MA. 01606 or to a charity of one’s choosing.
