WORCESTER – Theresa L. Szadziewicz, 87, of 9 Meola Avenue, died on Sunday, September 24, 2006 in UMass Memorial Health Care after an illness.
She leaves her brother with whom she lived, Joseph H. Szadziewicz; two sisters, Helen P. Kaminski of Northboro and Gertrude R. Collison of Niagara Falls, NY; two nieces and two nephews; and several grandnieces and grandnephews. A sister, Alice J. McMahon, predeceased her. She was born in Worcester the daughter of Joseph W. and Bronislawa (Prusko) Szadziewicz and lived here all of her life.
Ms. Szadziewicz graduated from Commerce High School, Salter’s Secretarial School and attended Northeastern University. She worked 43 years for Melville Shoe Company in Worcester retiring in 1984. She was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church and its Polish Women’s Club. She enjoyed quilting and knitting.
A calling hour for Ms. Szadziewicz will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 27, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden, followed by a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, 162 Webster Street, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
