Theresa C. (Cipriano) Miscione

HOLDEN – Theresa C. (Cipriano) Miscione, 95, formerly of Brooklyn, NY, died Wednesday, July 13, 2005 in Notre Dame Long Term Care, Worcester, after a brief illness.
Her husband of 56 years, Leopold M. T. Miscione, died in 1996. She leaves a son, John P. Miscione and his wife Roseanne of Florham Park, New Jersey; two daughters, MaryEllen Giasi and her husband Dr. Robert M. of Holden and Dr. Joanne T. Hadlock and her husband Dr. Charles R. of Lincoln; a brother, Ernest Cipriano of California; two sisters, Elizabeth Persico and Emily Farina both of New York; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; many nephews and nieces. Two brothers, Ferdinand and Eugene Cipraino, predeceased her. She was born in Manhattan, New York, the daughter of John and Mary (Nunziata) Cipriano, and lived most of her life in Brooklyn and several years in Holden before recently moving to Notre Dame.
Mrs. Miscione worked as a Banking Administrator in Brooklyn for many years. She was a member of St. George’s Church in Worcester and a former member of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Brooklyn, New York. She served as President of the Narrows Senior Center in Brooklyn for many years instituting many innovative and creative programs. She represented the seniors of her borough on the Municipal Council for Elder Affairs in New York City. She was a long time advocate for senior citizens and lobbied on their behalf in Albany, New York, and Washington, DC.
The funeral for Mrs. Miscione will be held at on Saturday, July 16, from the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden, with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. George’s Church, 40 Brattle Street, Worcester. Burial will be private on Sunday in Chocorua Cemetery, Rte. 113, Tamworth, New Hampshire. Calling hours are from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, July 15, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Notre Dame Long Term Care, 559 Plantation Street, Worcester 01605; or St. George’s Church, 40 Brattle Street, Worcester, MA 01606.
