Biography
BELLINGHAM – Theresa “Penny” B. (Liebl) Williams, 80, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Oakdale Rehab and Skilled Nursing Center after an illness. She was born in Hartford, CT, the daughter of Alois L. and Esther C. (Johnson) Liebl. She was a resident of Bellingham for more than 42 years.
Her loving husband of 48 years, Daniel J. Williams, Sr., passed away in 2006. She leaves a sister, Rachel Leibl; two brothers, Tony and Charles Liebl; her daughter, Cynthia Goodwin of Phoenix, AZ; her son, Daniel J. Williams, Jr.; her four grandchildren, Timothy A. LeMay, Jr. of Rutland, Penny A. Toothaker of Bellingham, Tiffany LeMay of Phoenix, AZ, and Anna Goodwin of Phoenix, AZ; six great-grandchildren; and nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her daughter, Theresa LeMay; and a brother, Alois Liebl.
In her early career, Penny was a clothing model and a synchronized swimmer in Boston. She enjoyed reading poetry, dancing, and especially listening to music of all genres. Penny also loved taking trips to the mountains of Maine and New Hampshire and to the casino in Rhode Island. Her sense of humor and laughter will always be remembered.
Funeral services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund, 34 Washington St., Suite 200, Wellesley Hills, MA 02481. Arrangements are under the care of the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
