WORCESTER – Thaddeus “Ted” J. Misilo, Sr., 80, of 112 Ararat St. passed away on Friday, July 29, 2005, in UMass Memorial Healthcare after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 56 years, Frances J. (Orciuch) Misilo; a son, Thaddeus J. Misilo, Jr. and his wife Donna of Royalston; two daughters, Christine T. Ricciardi and her husband Ronald of Hubbardston and Frances M. Misilo of North Port, Florida; a sister, Jane Zinkus of Worcester; seven grandchildren, Christopher, Peter and Melissa Ricciardi, T.J. and Tom Misilo, Michael Begonis and Sarah Chase; many nephews and nieces. Three brothers, Walter, Frederick and Joseph Misilo predeceased him. He was born in Worcester the son of Michael and Katherine (Sawa) Misilo and lived here all of his life. He loved all sports and particularly enjoyed watching his grandchildren play soccer.
Mr. Misilo graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester. He worked as an electrician at Morse Brothers Electric and later 10 years at UMass Memorial Health Care both in Worcester. He was a long time member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local Union 96, in Worcester. He was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, Vernon Hill American Legion Post, Worcester Submarine Veterans, and was a former long time president of the White Eagles Association all in Worcester. He was a World War II Navy Veteran and served aboard the submarine “USS Redfish” in the Asiatic Pacific Theater.
The funeral for Mr. Misilo will be held Tuesday, August 2, from the Miles Funeral home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. George’s Church, 38 Brattle Street, Worcester. Burial will be private in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, August 1, in the funeral home.
