HOLDEN – Maria Teresa (Tarzia) Moran, 92, passed into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, May 7, 2015, at Jewish Healthcare Center in Worcester. She was born in Bayonne, NJ, the daughter of Dominic and Catherine (Stramandinoli) Tarzia, and later moved to North Brunswick, NJ, and then Princeton.
Teresa leaves a daughter, Kathleen Moran Nicoll, with whom she lived in Holden, and three grandchildren: Lisa, David, and Mary Nicoll; great-granddaughter Ekaterina (Katya) Nicoll; nieces, Diane and Deborah McBride and Rosemarie Tarzia Gerhardt, Susan Matheson Smith; five nephews, Richard and John McBride, Nick, Albert and Ralph Tarzia; and several grandnieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John G. Moran, three brothers, Dominic, Bruno, and Ralph Tarzia, four sisters, Camille Holloway, Mary McBride, Estelle Mengo, and Rachel Tarzia, and a nephew, Paul Holloway.
A visiting hour will be held on Wednesday, May 13, from 9 to 10 a.m. in the Miles Funeral home, 1158 Main Street, Holden followed by a 10:30 Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, 114 Princeton St., Jefferson. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Church, P.O. Box 2200, Jefferson, MA 01522, of Jewish Healthcare Center Hospice, 629 Salisbury Street, Worcester, MA 01609.
