Sylvia I. (Page) Bockstein

April 9, 1927 — September 2, 2013

HOLDEN – Sylvia I. (Page) Bockstein, 86, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2013 at Sunrise of Norwood. She was born on April 9, 1927 in Charleston, SC, the daughter of Richard E. and Lillian I. (Benoit) Page.

Sylvia was a 1942 graduate from Nathan Hale High School in East Haddam, CT. She attended the University of Connecticut, earned an Associate’s Degree in Psychology from Eastern Connecticut State University and later earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services from Fitchburg State College. Sylvia was a mental health assistant for many years for the States of Connecticut and Massachusetts.

Her husband of 55 years, Stanley M. Bockstein passed away in 2006. She leaves a son, William B. Bockstein of Providence, RI; two daughters, Elizabeth A. Page of Saratoga Springs, NY and Linda E. Streeter and her husband George of Wrentham; six grandchildren, Elizabeth, Sara, Brandy, Samantha, Evan and Dylan; two great-grandchildren, Ezra and Judah; several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by two brothers, Henry and John Page.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, September 7, from 12 to 2 p.m. followed by a celebration of Sylvia’s life at 2 p.m. at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. A committal service will follow at Grove Cemetery, 1290 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
