Sylvia Klauber

July 27, 1920 — August 15, 2015

NIANTIC, CT/WORCESTER– Sylvia (Feinstein) Klauber, 95, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Jewish Healthcare after an illness. She was born in Paterson, NJ, the daughter of Saul and Ruth (Rosenhaus) Feinstein.



Her loving husband of 67 years, Robert H. Klauber, passed away in 2010. She leaves her son, Michael B. Klauber and his wife, Marcy of Simpsonville, SC; her daughter, Helen Hill and her husband, Robert of Sterling; her brother, Horace Feinstein of Florida; four grandchildren, Marc and Colin Hill and Aaron and Katherine Klauber; and nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her sister, Rhoda Milnarich of El Paso, TX.



Sylvia graduated from Paterson Eastside High School, attended the Bergen Community College in Paramus, NJ and graduated from William Paterson University with a bachelor’s degree. She was a bookkeeper for many years for several companies before retiring. Sylvia was an active member of Temple Israel and its Sisterhood in Ridgewood, NJ and was a nursing home advocate for the State of Connecticut. She was treasurer and past president of her condo association and enjoyed knitting, crochet and collecting china elephants.



A private committal service will be held at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus, NJ.



Memorial Observance will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tues., Aug. 18th at Helen and Robert Hill’s residence, 346 Upper North Row Rd, Sterling.



In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Jewish Healthcare Center Hospice, 629 Salisbury St., Worcester, MA 10609. Arrangements are under the care of the Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Rd., Sterling.
