HOLDEN – Walter Swenson, 92, of Reservoir Street, died Friday, August 21, 2009 in UMass Memorial Healthcare, Belmont Street, Worcester.
He leaves his wife of 70 years, Edith W. (Oslebo) Swenson; a daughter, Winifred Hanson of West Boylston; two twin granddaughters, Holly and Heidi; 2 great-grandsons, Spencer and Griffin; and 2 great great-granddaughters, Thea and Autumn. He was born in Worcester, the son of Ragnar and Florence (Sundberg) Swenson, and lived in Holden most of his life. He was a graduate of North High School.
Mr. Swenson worked for Morgan Construction for 43 years retiring as Foreman in 1979. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and the John Ericsson Lodge 25 VASA Order of America in Worcester. He was an avid golfer and a former member of Westminster Country Club and Wachusett Country Club.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 25th in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery, 1290 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Memorial donations may be made to Mass.
