Susan Westwood (Seed) Quinn

STERLING / PEABODY / ACTON  - Susan Westwood (Seed) Quinn, 50, passed away surrounded by love on Sunday, May 14, 2017. She was the beloved wife of 21 years of Richard C. Quinn and devoted mother of Campbell May Quinn and Brian Westwood Quinn, all of Sterling, and cherished daughter of Roland Westwood Seed and Barbara (Hooper) Seed of Peabody.
Sue was a 1985 graduate of Peabody Veterans’ Memorial High School and a 1989 graduate of the University of New Hampshire where she earned a B.S. in Communication Disorders. She earned a M.S. in Speech Language Pathology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She worked as a speech language pathologist at Shaughnessy Rehabilitation Hospital in Salem throughout the 1990s, and after taking time off to raise her family, returned to part-time work, most recently at UMass Memorial- Clinton Hospital.
As a dedicated, loving and proud mother, she attended years of baseball, basketball, soccer, football and lacrosse games, swim meets and dance recitals—and loved it all. Sue was an active community volunteer, and served on the Village Green Preschool Board and the student/parent advisory committee at the Chocksett Middle School. She was a member of the First Church of Sterling where she taught Sunday school for many years. In an informal capacity, she hosted many gatherings and pool parties at her home for her children’s friends, and enjoyed entertaining family and friends in her beautiful home. She made all who came feel welcome, while also managing to make it look easy.
Sue was adored by all who knew her and people often commented that she was the nicest person they have known. She was thoughtful, compassionate and humble, and laughed easily and often. Sue was a devoted and loyal friend to many, and had many friendships that spanned her lifetime. She was a great listener, great company and an all-around great sport.
In addition to her husband, children and parents, she leaves her sister, Kimberly (Seed) Skinner, her husband, Robert, and their children Benjamin, Matthew and Daniel, of Colorado Springs, CO; her brother, David Seed and his wife, Deborah and their children, Nate and Amanda, of North Reading; her sister-in-law, Beth LaBossiere of West Dennis and her children, Kate and Caleigh of Boston; and her sister-in-law, Jeannie Meijer and her husband Cliff and their children, Jay and Matthew of Acton. She also leaves her beloved golden doodle, Gracie, who rarely left her side.
Sue had every gift in life except the gift of longevity. She will be sorely missed by the many friends and relatives who loved her so dearly.  Her memory will inspire us all to live our lives with grace, kindness and humor.
Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Sue’s life by gathering for memorial calling hours at the Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Rd., Sterling, from 4 to 7 pm. on Wednesday, May 17. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, May 18, at the First Church in Sterling, 6 Meetinghouse Hill Rd., Sterling.  Burial will be private at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in memory of Susan Seed Quinn to support cancer research and patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O.
