PAXTON – Steven W. Siter, 73, passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, July 8, 2018. He was born in Great Barrington, the son of William B. and Virginia L. (Spurr) Siter and was a Paxton resident for 45 years. He leaves his wife, Ansley D. (Smith) Siter; his son, Nathan A. Siter of Helsinki, Finland; his daughter, Phoebe A. Williams and her husband, Stephen of Barre; his brother, Gerald Siter of Connecticut; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, James and half-sister, Patricia Bonitatibus. Steven earned his Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University and a Master’s in Power Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He was a Lieutenant JG in the U.S. Navy serving aboard the USS Enterprise. He was an electrical engineer for Mass Electric before retiring in 2003. He was a member of Central Mass Amateur Radio Association, AMC 4000 Footer Club and Vintage Chevrolet Club of America. He was a licensed pilot, restored his 1927 Chevy truck, loved his tractors, climbed almost all the Adirondack 4000 footers, and traveled across the US and Europe. Most of all, he loved his kids and grandchildren. A celebration of life for Steven will be held on Sunday, July 29 at 12 noon at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Worcester, 90 Holden Street, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation, P.O. Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014.
