Steven A. Kolofsky

RUTLAND – Steven A. Kolofsky, 56, passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at UMass Memorial Healthcare – University Campus after a sudden illness. He was born in Worcester, the son of Andrew Kolofsky and was a lifelong resident of Rutland.
He leaves his daughter, Juliannah Kolofsky of Rutland and her mother, Dorene A. Kolofsky; his mother, Mary A. Kolofsky of Rutland; his sister, Betty A. Muir of Rutland; his brother, Christopher E. Kolofsky and his wife Darlene of Rutland; his sister-in-law, Lisa Kolofsky of Maine; his nephews, Andrew and Thomas Kolofsky; his nieces, Katherine Stankiewicz, Ashley Kolofsky and Maria Kolofsky; and his grand-niece, Natalie Stankiewicz. Steven was predeceased by his father, Andrew Kolofsky, and brother, Peter J. Kolofsky.
Steven graduated from Worcester Boy’s Trade School and Wyoming Technical School in Cheyenne. He worked locally as a diesel mechanic for many years. Steven raced in the Bud Lite/Prostock Division of NASCAR at New Hampshire Tracks Hudson Speedway and Star Speedway. Over the years, he won 41 races, and multiple track championships.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 26th at St. Patrick’s Church, 258 Main Street, Rutland. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery in Rutland.
