Steven John Breen

November 4, 1948 — February 17, 2006

PRINCETON – Steven John Breen, 57, of 30 Bigelow Road, died surrounded by his loving family on Friday, February 17, 2006, in UMass Memorial, Worcester, after a short illness.

He leaves his wife of 33 years, Judith (Lempicki) Breen; daughters, Suzanne and Michelle Breen of Worcester; an aunt, Bernie Robertson of Bloomfield, Connecticut; and a cousin, Paul Bisnette and his wife Lay Kuan Toh of Waterbury, Connecticut. An aunt, Rita Persson, predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of John and Lorraine (Jarry) Breen, and lived in Princeton for 29 years.

Mr. Breen was a graduate of Burncoat Senior High School, earned a Bachelor’s degree from Clark University/School of the Worcester Art Museum and a Master’s degree from Assumption College. He was an art teacher in the Worcester Public School System for 34 years, most recently at the Jacob Hiatt Magnet Elementary School. He was owner of the No-Name Picture Frame Shop in Princeton for many years; a member of the Princeton Tennis Club, Princeton Art Society, and the Massachusetts Art Education Association. He was an avid gardener, tennis player, photographer and enjoyed cooking and spending time with family and friends.

Calling hours for Mr. Breen will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, February 20, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, February 21, in the First Congregational Church of Princeton, 14 Mountain Road. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Steven Breen Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Jacob Hiatt School, 772 Main Street, Worcester, MA 01610.
