STERLING – Stanley Wyrebek, 80, of 186 Justice Hill Cutoff, a 39-year resident of Sterling, died Thursday, July 6, 2006 in UMass Memorial Hospital, Worcester, after a long illness.
He leaves his wife of 61 years, Michelina P. (Graziano) Wyrebek; four sons, Bruce E. Wyrebek of Southbridge, Gary M. Wyrebek of Bristol, CT, William Wyrebek of Leominster and Matthew Wyrebek of Gardner; four daughters, Diana R. Fontaine of Plymouth, Marian W. Cutroni of Spencer, Carole A. Carroll of Boulder, Colorado, and Valerie Harring of Marshfield; a sister, JoAnne Parenti of Forrestville, Connecticut; 18 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. His daughter, Michele Wyrebek, died in February of 2003.
He was born in Waterbury, Connecticut, son of Boleslaw and Marian (Mroczkowska) Wyrebek, and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II serving on the U.S.S. Suwanee. He was a supervisor in the plastic industry for many years, retiring in 1985.
The funeral Mass for Mr. Wyrebek will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 10, in St. Richard of Chichester Church, 4 Bridge Street, Sterling. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Clinton Road (Rte. 62), Sterling. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Richard of Chichester Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 657, Sterling, MA 01564. Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling, is directing arrangements.
