LEOMINSTER - Stanley Lester Tharler, 92, of Boca Raton, FL, and Leominster passed away on October 24, 2016. He was born on August 30, 1924 to the late Samuel and Fannie (Mandel) Tharler. He was the devoted husband of Muriel Tharler for more than 70 years; a loving role model for his sons, Steven Tharler of Wayland, MA and Gary Tharler of Sebastopol, CA and their families: Nancy Tharler, Kate Tharler, Rabbi Anne Brener, Scott and Lisa Tharler, Marni and Jen Tharler, Annabella and Caralyn Tharler. He was beloved brother of Seymour Tharler and Lucille Schwartz who predeceased him. Stanley was awarded the Bronze Star for his service during the Battle of the Bulge. He was the former principle of S. Tharler & Sons, Inc. in Leominster, and Sanitoy Corp. in Fitchburg. He was a kind, gentle, generous, curious soul, known for his quick wit, humanitarian values and keen observations. Stanley loved to study Torah and history, recent and ancient. He was an exhibited artist and sculptor. He loved sports, was an avid golfer and tennis player, enjoyed bridge, Sudoku, Scrabble and crossword puzzles. Funeral services will be held at Congregation Agudat Achim, 268 Washington Street, Leominster on Sunday, October 30, at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Agudat Achim Cemetery, 320 Rollstone Road, Fitchburg.
