Stanley O. Smith

December 29, 1906 — April 27, 2005

WEST BOYLSTON - Stanley O. Smith, 98, formerly of 5 Howard Ave., died Wednesday, April 27, 2005, in the Oakdale Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center, West Boylston, after an illness.

His wife of 52 years, Kathleen V. (Healy) Smith, died in 1994. He leaves his daughter, Marilyn A. Sinibaldi of West Boylston; two sons, Maurice A. Smith of York, Maine; Ronald L. Smith of Long Island, New York; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was born in New Haven, New York, son of Fred and Etta (Burton) Smith, and moved to West Boylston in 1953. He was a machinist for Norton Company in Worcester for 24 years.

Mr. Smith was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the Harold N. Keith American Legion Post in West Boylston. He was an avid hunter and a member of the NORCO Sportsman’s Club in Princeton.

The funeral service for Mr. Smith will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Cemetery, 32 Church Street, West Boylston. Calling hours are from 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Oakdale Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center, Activities Fund, 76 North Main Street, West Boylston, MA 01583.
