Biography
WORCESTER - Stanley Levine died on October 19, 2014. He was 91.

Mr. Levine was born on December 24, 1922 in Worcester to immigrant parents, Abraham and Rose (Krock) Levine. He married Madeline S. Idlis of Springfield, MA on May 30, 1947. He was a graduate of Classical High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army upon graduation where he served as a corporal in the 2074th Quartermaster Truck Company Unit. He served in the Pacific theater and was among the first soldiers to step foot on Japanese soil after their surrender.

His professional career included ownership in Neponset Dry Cleaning and Fur Storage, and a long tenure at Commonwealth Stationers and Deerfield Press.

Mr. Levine is survived by his five children Bernard (Buzzy), Richard (Rick), Elliot, Rachael and Robert (Duke) as well as eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He is pre-deceased by his wife Maddie, his brother George Levine and his sister Sylvia Reck.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, October 20, at Temple Emanuel Sinai, 661 Salisbury Street, Worcester, with burial following at B'Nai Brith Cemetery, 55 St. John's Road, Worcester, under the direction of Richard Perlman of Miles Funeral Home of Holden.
