HOLDEN - Eva (Pepin) Sokolowski James, 80, formerly of 456 Wachusett St., Holden, died on Cape Cod surrounded by her loving sons, Edward Sokolowski of Pocassett and Andrew Sokolowski of Worcester, on Tuesday, March 4, 2008.
Eva also leaves two grandsons, Joe Sokolowski of Pocasset and Michael Sokoloski of Worcester; five step-daughters, Allison Bartczak, Lisa Malatos, Cynthia Robbins, Deborah Atwood, and Holly Mooers; a sister, Cora Girouard of Florida; and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her step-daughter, Betsey Hatch. She was the wife of the late Robert James who died in May of 2004. Eva was born in Worcester, daughter of Louis and Palmyre (Breton) Pepin. She attended Commerce High School in Worcester and worked for Slovin Manufacturing for many years. She was an active member at the Holden Senior Center and enjoyed gardening, woodcarving, painting, camping and sewing.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 9th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Her funeral will be held on Monday from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 114 Princeton Street, Jefferson. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, 357 Main Street, Leominster. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Beacon Hospice, 259 Willow Street, Unit 2, Yarmouthport, MA 02675.
