HOLDEN – Francis S. Marrara, 64, of Nola Drive, died Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at UMass Memorial Hospital, Worcester.
He leaves his wife of 42 years, Kazuko (Watanabe) Marrara; a son, Christopher J. Marrara of Sturbridge; a brother, Thomas Marrara of Cherry Hill, NJ; two sisters, Kathleen Hind and Angela Marrara, both of Cherry Hill; two grandchildren, Ryan and Rory; and nephews and nieces. He was born in Philadelphia, PA, son of Frank and Rita (Palcido) Marrara, and lived in Cherry Hill until moving to Holden 15 years ago.
Francis was U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War serving aboard the USS Mars where he received four bronze stars. He was Superintendent at Cranston Print Co. in Webster for many years.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 13th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The funeral for Francis will be held on Saturday, March 14th, from the funeral home with a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, 114 Princeton Street, Jefferson. Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the Town of Holden Fire Department Ambulance Fund, 1384 Main Street, Holden, MA 01520.
