Floyd Sivert Larson

December 25, 1929 — December 2, 2007

HOLDEN - Floyd Sivert Larson, of Holden, went to be with the Lord on December 2, 2007, after a long illness and several months of care at Knollwood Nursing Center.

Floyd was the beloved husband of Eunice A. (Frick) Larson for 57 years. He leaves four children, Donald Larson and his wife Denise of Holden, Steven Larson and his wife Debra of New Hampshire, Clifford Larson and his wife Wanda of Florida and Susan Jacobsen and her husband Robert of Holden; twelve grandchildren, Craig Larson, Curt Larson, Carissa Allen, Erica Larson, Christina Campbell, Nicholas Larson, Addison Larson, Nelson Larson, Bobby Jacobsen, Erica Jacobsen, Tommy Jacobsen, and Anna Jacobsen; four great-grandchildren, Olivia and Emma Campbell, Hayden Larson, and Elianna Larson; two sisters, Ruth Endresen of California and Violet Peters of Springfield, Massachusetts. Floyd, son of Helen and Oscar Sivert Larson, was born in Worcester on December 25, 1929.

Floyd owned and operated Larson & Sons Floor Company until his retirement in 1979. He also held a general contractor’s license, building several homes and churches throughout Massachusetts.

Church and family were an important part of his life. He showed his love for the Lord as he taught Sunday School, directed the choir, and served in Royal Rangers at First Assembly of God in Worcester, Massachusetts. He also served as the Men’s Director for the Southern New England District of the Assemblies of God. For over 20 years, he was involved with Royal Rangers locally, all along the east coast, nationwide as President of the Royal Ranger Council for five years, and in South America, where he traveled with the founder of Royal Rangers to start new groups on that continent. Floyd was a member of Grace Bible Church of Sterling. The snow of winters brought Floyd to the slopes of Wachusett Mountain, where he served on the National Ski Patrol for 35 years. Fishing with his grandchildren was a favorite pastime during the summer months. After retirement, Floyd and Eunice traveled extensively both in this country and abroad. They enjoyed hosting groups on trips here and overseas. The family would like to extend their sincerest thanks and gratitude to the long term staff of Knollwood Nursing Center for their endless, attentive, and loving care of Floyd during his illness.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 4th in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. A funeral service for Floyd will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 5th, in the Holden Chapel, 279 Reservoir Street, Holden. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56), Paxton. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that gifts be given to Grace Bible Church of Sterling, P.O. Box 567, Sterling, MA 01564, where they will be used to support missionaries worldwide.
